Landscape lighting

Landscape lighting is low-voltage outdoor lighting used to make a yard usable and attractive after dark.

Landscape lighting is the layer that lets a yard work past sunset. The common types are path lights for footing, uplights aimed at a tree or wall for drama, and downlights set high in a tree to throw a soft, moonlit wash over a patio.

It does three jobs at once: it makes steps and paths safe, it stretches the hours a space is actually used, and it turns a feature you paid for into something you can see at night. A garden that disappears at dusk is only half-built.

Most kits run on low voltage, which makes a basic install genuinely DIY. The mistake to avoid is over-lighting: a few well-aimed fixtures read as elegant, a yard lit like a parking lot reads as nervous.
